Model UN at UTD
Model United Nations (MUN) at UT Dallas provides Comets with the opportunity to learn about international relations, history, geopolitics and diplomacy all while modeling the UN.
The United Nations is one of the leading international bodies for intergovernmental cooperation, providing humanitarian aid and seeking to create a sustainable, peaceful, and equal world for all.

Why Model UN?
- MUN offers support, networking opportunities and mentorship for new members.
- MUN travels to four conferences every year. For the 2025-2026 academic year, our schedule includes NMUN D.C. (November 2025), NMUN Canada (November 2025), NWMUN Portland (February 2026) and NMUN New York (April 2025). MUN has over 70 travel spots for these conferences, and you could attend one of them.
Join the Team
MUN practices are at 5:30 p.m. every Friday in both the fall and spring semesters. Anyone is welcome to attend, introduce yourself and begin training with the team, regardless of your plans to audition or travel. If you want to see what MUN is like before you audition, attend a practice to give it a try.
Members are required to audition for each conference. Most auditions consist of a 250-word policy essay and a 60- or 90-second speech. All information regarding the audition will be found in an audition packet emailed at least one week before each audition.
