Jocob Loehr

Senior

Jacob Loehr was awarded a debate scholarship in 2012 after a very successful career at Westwood HS in Austin, where he finished 12th overall at NFL Nationals. Jacob is a three-time NDT qualifier and 2015 NDT double-octa finalist.

Anthony Ogbuli

Senior

A native of Chicago Illinois, Anthony joined the team in 2013 after transferring from Illinois State to study political science at UT Dallas. Anthony has since qualified twice for the NDT, reaching the double-octa finals in 2015.

Emilio Lozano

Senior

Emilio is the 2015 recipient of the Bryce Jordan Arts Scholarship for creative writing. Emilio assists the team with special video and social media projects.

Daniel Becker

Junior

Was a successful LD debate at Crowley High School where he qualified for both TFA and UIL state, before joining the team in 2012. Daniel, a National Merit Finalist, is majoring in Finance.

Demarcus Powell

Junior

DeMarcus debated at Crowley high school for three years where he competed on the TFA and Texas TOC circuits. He Qualified for TFA State and U.I.L. region three times.

Mariah Mchenry

Junior

Debated at Capen Mt. Carmel High School in Wichita Kansas and is majoring in mathematics. Mariah was a National Merit Semi-Finalist.

Kyle Ballard

Sophomore

Kyle received a debate scholarship after finishing 7th overall at 2014 NFL nationals. Last season, Kyle was one of two UT Dallas teams to reach the ‘Sweet 16’ of the CEDA national tournament. Kyle is a member of the Davidson Management Honors Program in the Naveen Jindal School of Management.

Thomas Flanagan

Sophomore

A National Merit Finalist majoring in Economic, Thomas debated at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School where he was a TFA semi-finalist in 2014. Thomas reached the ‘Sweet 16’ of the CEDA national tournament in 2015.

Brandon Johnson

Sophomore

Brandon was 2 time qualifier of TFA state for Westwood HS in Austin, Tx and is pursuing a degree in Geospatial Information Sciences.

Danielle Edmonds

Sophomore

Danielle was a state and national finalist in Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum debate and is now pursuing a degree in Political Science.

Asif Sheikh

Sophomore

Asif qualified for TFA and the National Debate Coaches Invitational national tournament as a high school competitor, before joining the team in 2014. Asif, a National Merit Semi-Finalist is pursuing degrees in Computer and Environmental Sciences.
